Statement
I am a 3rd generation Californian, who has lived in the Bay Area most of my life. I have shown welded steel sculpture in the San Francisco Museum of Art, abstract oil paintings in the San Diego Museum of Art and transparent hanging pieces in the Mills College Art Museum. My artists’ books and paintings are in local and national collections.
I love to see new places. I draw, write, photograph and even paint wherever I go. When traveling I sketch in handmade books that have been prepared especially for the trip. Later these images become inspirations for paintings. After I’ve finished a series of paintings and an artists’ book, I send my artwork out into the world. If my work gives a few minutes of contemplation or pleasure to another person then I have done my job.

Hi, Carla,
Long time no see. I see that you are still staying very active and creative. Alex and I still get together regularly.
I am writing to you because I ran into someone who was interested in finding out more about the type of customized tours that you took when you went to China. I was wondering if your guide is still doing them. Was his name Norman? Or did I make that up?
My son recently got engaged. No wedding date yet. It is supposed to be in the spring. Hope all is well with you and yours.
Happy Holidays,
Emma

Hi Emma
I’m sorry to say Bill Wu isn’t giving tours to China anymore. It was a very special tour of only eight people. I don’t have any other suggestions, but I’ll let you know if I hear of any China trips being planned.
Happy New Year!
Carla
